Saysaban is a Sudanese clothing brand of Italian origin. The name is inspired by the Saysabana, which

Sudanese artists wrote songs about to describe beautiful tall, slender women. The brand owner is

Design Hiba Rahma.

Brandnomer or the Generic Trademark.. is a brand that is so dominant, its name has become

synonymous with the product itself..!! Or a specific service for that matter..!! The name is generally used

to describe products and services that are similar. For example, any Italian toub decorated with white edge

is a Ratti, disposable paper-based towels.. #Kleenex, cloth-topped boots.. Bata, crystal.. Swarovski,

and so on.


The brandnomer is a double-edged sword when it come to a product.. Its reputation can be exploited by

competitors to promote cheap or counterfeit products..!! In this case, the trademark owner is burdened

by the responsibility of correcting misconceptions to prevent confusion and misuse. Trademark is a

symbol or words legally registered or established by use as representing a company or product, and its

purpose is to differentiate between various companies' products. The trademark can be sold, rented,

mortgaged, owned or assigned.


As for the brand, it easily communicates the product's qualities and personality. The brand has a

more comprehensive and general meaning than a trademark. It bears the material and intangible

characteristics of the product, which include three main points: First, the essence of the product in

terms of its tangible value and benefits, which makes it easily distinguishable for consumers from other

similar products. Second is the consumer satisfaction level, in terms of satisfying the consumer's wants

and needs.

Third is the identity, personality, product design, packaging, presentation, and after-sales services.

Product pricing can be affected by brand value. For instance, all cars are means of transportation, but

each car is distinguished form others by means of its material properties and personality. And this is the

difference between a brand and a trademark. Mercedes-Benz is a German vehicle automotive brand.

Their trademark is the silver circle with a three-pointed star. However, their brand is the Mercedes car

itself and the technology, performance and heritage that come with it. In addition to other perceived

values, the most important of which is luxury, as one may purchase a Mercedes as a statement that he is

special and different.
