We work primarily with natural fibres: 100% cotton, 100% natural silk and 100% linen. The fibre varies according to the collection and design.
Voile is a fabric construction used in our premium cotton toubs. “Total” is a commonly used commercial term in the Sudanese market and does not necessarily identify the actual fibre content or construction.
For this reason, our product descriptions state the composition precisely—for example, 100% Cotton Voile.
No. Ratti is an Italian textile manufacturing and printing company, not a fabric type. Our work with Ratti dates back to our early experience of producing printed Sudanese toubs with European manufacturers.
SaYsaban is a Sudanese toub line owned by the Hiba Rahma Design brand. It is not a fabric or a factory name. Its products are manufactured in Italy according to our specifications.
Both sit under Hiba Rahma Design, but each line has its own identity and design direction.
Hiba Rahma Everyday: 100% Cotton Voile. An experimental line made to the same quality standards, designed for formal occasions as well as practical everyday wear.
Hiba Rahma Luxury: 100% Cotton Voile, featuring more detailed, complex designs for important occasions, visits and celebrations.
Hiba Rahma Silk: designs made from 100% natural mulberry silk.
Hiba Rahma also includes a fashion line centred on innovation and sustainability, using leftover toub fabrics to create new garments. Most pieces combine 100% linen with remnants of 100% cotton toub fabric.
It is a collaboration between designer Hiba Rahma and the Italian textile manufacturer Ratti, rooted in our earliest work producing printed toubs with European manufacturers.
The collaboration includes fabrics such as 100% Cotton Voile, lamé evening cotton and cotton jacquard. Designs are selected and adapted to suit the aesthetic and cultural requirements of the Sudanese toub. Some designs may remain available for Ratti to sell to other clients, while others are exclusive and may not be commercially used by the manufacturer elsewhere.
Silk sourced through the manufacturer may also be supplied under textile brands other than Ratti.
Do not rely on the line or collection name alone. Check the product description, where we identify the fibre content and fabric construction—for example: 100% Cotton Voile, 100% Natural Silk or 100% Linen.
A significant proportion of our toub fabrics and products are manufactured and printed in Italy, but the country of manufacture may vary by product and line. We therefore specify the fabric and country of manufacture on individual product information rather than applying one statement to every product.
Fibre type
Cotton = fibre type
Silk = fibre type
Linen = fibre type
Fabric construction

Example: in “100% Cotton Voile”, cotton identifies the fibre, while voile identifies the fabric construction.
Foil
Foil is not a fibre or fabric construction. It is a thin metallic layer applied to the surface of the fabric and fixed using heat, or heat together with a specialised adhesive. It may cover a full area or be applied as decorative motifs and details.
